frequently asked questions ...

Q:  Where can I buy your jewellery?

My jewellery is available to buy directly from me here on my website on a first come, first served basis. Or at Hair 2 Day, Albany Road, Cardiff.  Or you might like to book a Jewellery Party.  Sometimes I sell my jewellery at local craft fairs - see events.

Q:  How do I buy your jewellery?

Just send me an email me with the description(s) of the item(s) you'd like to buy and I will email you back to confirm your purchase.

Q:  How can I pay?

I will accept payment by PayPal or personal cheque (I will despatch your purchase once payment has been received).

Q:  How much will postage and packing cost?

I am trying to contrbute to "saving the planet", so I may use recycled outer packaging, in which case there will be no packing charge, otherwise packing costs will be charged at £1.00, plus Royal Mail postage as follows (no profit is made from postage and packaging).:

  • 0-100g @ 109p
  • 101-250g @ 138p
  • 251-500g @ 184p
  • 501-750g @ 238p
  • 751-1000g @ 292p
  • 1001-1250g @ 425p

  • Each additional 250g or part thereof +75p

If you would like your package sent recorded delivery, please let me know, this costs an additional £1.00.

Q:  How will my jewellery be packaged?

Jewellery is wrapped in bubble wrap, tissue paper and then packed in a Jiffy Bag.  If you would like your jewellery gift wrapped, please let me know and I can arrange this for an additional small charge.

Q:  What do I do if my jewellery is damaged or faulty?

I want you to be absolutely satisfied with any jewellery you buy from handmadebysuzanne - so if it is damaged on arrival or faulty in anyway, please contact me at the earliest opportunity.

    Q:  Do you take commissions?

I do take commissions, please send me an email with your telephone number and I will call you to discuss your ideas and requirements.

Q:  How did you get into jewellery making?

Well, my sister Julia became a Mum to my beautiful nephew Joseph, and gave up work to look after him.  So as well as looking after a brand new baby, she enrolled on a manicure course and a jewellery course .... with the idea of developing some new skills that might become a career that fitted in with motherhood!  Julia encouraged my interest in jewellery making and we made some pieces together, for our Mum for her Ruby Wedding Anniversary and then her birthday.  My interest has developed from there .... and I am looking to develop my skills with a Jewellery Making Course (which includes silver work) and also a Lampwork Bead Course both during Autumn 2007.  That's it so far ... I'll let you know how I get on, and hopefully the shop will show the fruits of my new skills.  When she has some time I will encourage Julia to show some her jewellery here on my website.

    Q:  Who does your website?

I have just built this website myself .... I still can't believe it, using Microsoft Office Live - it was relatively simple, but its early days yet.  I may have a look at the Mr Site software, that has been recommended to me.
